How do I store my sourdough?
For those who are capable of keeping the loaf in your home for more than one day:
Store in a dry place at room temperature for up to three days, in the fridge for up to a week, or in the freezer for longer. This is for both vacuum sealed or standard packaging.
**If storing in the freezer we advise you to pre-slice the bread to easily grab a midnight snack to heat up!
How do I reheat my sourdough?
Taking slices from a room temperature setting or from the fridge:
Toast on the stove top, medium heat with butter
In the toaster
In the oven at 350 for a few minutes flipping until desired crispiness
For extra crispy crostini style: thinly slice, drizzle lightly with olive oil, salt, pepper, and broil until crisp (watch this one closely it can burn easily)
For an uncut loaf from room temperature or from the fridge:
Bake in the oven at 350 for about 10 minutes until the crust is at your desired level
For a frozen uncut loaf:
Thaw to room temperature and then baking the oven at 350 for 10 minutes or until the crust is your desired crispiness
How do you eat sourdough?
There are so many ways! The most common and simple way is to cut a slice, put some grass-fed butter and your favorite jam or jelly, grab your favorite book or TV show and enjoy!
A few other ways we love to do it:
Top it off with some avocado, shredded Parmesan and a protein source
You can make Panini style sandwiches or normal sandwiches
Bacon, egg, and cheese sandwiches for breakfast
Crisp up to dip into soups or dips
Cut up into cubes and bake it to make croutons
Make a bread bowl
And so much more!!
How do I store/reheat my non vacuum sealed fresh cinnamon rolls?
You can eat them straight out of the box!
OR drizzle lightly with heavy cream on top of the cinnamon rolls or brioche star pastry and place them in an oven safe container.
Bake on 350 for 5 to 10 minute until warm.
You can cover with foil to prevent browning.
Make sure to be watching carefully as they can burn. These are fully cooked, this is just warming instructions if you prefer to warm them.
You can also put them in a microwave safe container and microwave them for a few seconds but not too long or they can lose their gooey texture and get hard
Store cinnamon rolls and icing in fridge for up to a week. Freeze if preserving for longer and use the reheat instructions below!
What if I got my cinnamon rolls or bread vacuum sealed so I could freeze it and use it at a later date?
To preserve freshness you will need to store in vacuum sealed pack in freezer.
To reheat:
Put in the refrigerator overnight to thaw, then on the counter for 30 minutes before baking but leave them in the vacuum sealed packs while thawing to preserve moisture.
Once fully thawed, remove from vacuum sealed packaging and bake.
Sourdough loaves: 375 F for 10-15 mins until center is warm and outer is crisp.
Sourdough dinner rolls: 350 for 10 mins (cover with foil for first 6 mins to not overly brown them)
Cinnamon Rolls/Brioche Star: lightly drizzle with heavy cream, especially on edges then bake 350 for 8-12 mins until desired texture.
Store icing in refrigerator.
